What have you tried?

I was just wondering if anyone had tried anything new yet and how it was working?  I had planned to start with curriculum compacting our place value indicator, but I didn't have any kids who were showing mastery yet.  Sam (my student teacher) and I have been working with small groups.  We'll see how that goes when we give our indicator assessment next week.

    I am with you. I have a low group so I am not sure compacting is going to be a strategy to try this year. We will see with the other indicators, but so far I have had to spend five days on place value.
    I am doing the spelling contract and going to assign the book report activity for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We will see!

    Good luck! I have a high group, so I'm hoping this week was just a fluke. Rounding is next and that is always tricky so we shall see.
